In a transparent factory in Dresden, workers wearing white gloves carefully assemble Volkswagen's new luxury saloon. The Phaeton has everything you'd expect from a car in this class. The powerful 6 liter W12 engine propels the car to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds and, where the law permits, reaches 250 km/h (limited). And yet it remains silky smooth because our engineers have found new ways to minimize even the slightest vibration.

There are around 100 patents integrated into the new Phaeton. In fact, the only feature you'll recognise is the Volkswagen logo.

The new Long Wheelbase Phaeton boasts the same outstanding performance as its standard wheel base sibling, with the same silky smooth 6 litre W12 engine that can propel the car to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds. But it's the refinements inside that make this Phaeton extra special.

An electrically operated rear windscreen sunblind and sunroof, together with rear side window blinds and a 4Zone climate control ensure that passengers can relax in utmost comfort; and the rear seating area has been extended by an impressive 120mm. And if you'd like even more room in the back, the front passenger seat can be adjusted from the rear
